Braces Treatment

Initial Consultation: The process typically begins with a consultation with an orthodontist, who will assess your dental alignment, bite, and overall oral health to determine if braces are the right treatment for you.

Treatment Planning: If braces are recommended, your orthodontist will create a personalized treatment plan based on your specific needs. This may involve taking X-rays, photographs, and dental impressions to develop a detailed understanding of your dental anatomy.

Braces Placement: Once the treatment plan is finalized, your orthodontist will apply the braces to your teeth. Braces consist of brackets that are bonded to the front surface of each tooth and connected by archwires. Depending on your needs, additional components such as bands, elastics, or springs may be used to facilitate tooth movement.

Adjustments: Throughout the treatment process, you’ll have regular appointments with your orthodontist for adjustments. During these appointments, the wires may be tightened or replaced to gradually move your teeth into the desired position.

Monitoring Progress: Your orthodontist will monitor your progress closely throughout the treatment to ensure that your teeth are moving according to plan. X-rays and other imaging techniques may be used periodically to assess the alignment of your teeth and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.

Removal: Once your teeth have been successfully aligned, your orthodontist will remove the braces. This process typically involves debonding the brackets and removing any remaining adhesive from your teeth.

Retention: After braces are removed, you’ll likely need to wear a retainer to maintain the results of your treatment. Retainers help prevent your teeth from shifting back to their original position and are usually worn full-time initially, with the wearing time gradually reduced over time.
